Isaac's birthday!

This weekend we celebrated Isaac's 10th birthday!

Isaac had a couple requests to celebrate...he wanted a sleepover with a few friends (he named 3), he wanted spaghetti and meatballs for his birthday dinner, and Orange Crush to drink over the weekend.  So Friday night we picked up his 3 friends, headed to Colorado Grill for dinner (the four boys sat at their own booth in the corner, under a TV, and talked and ate the whole time, loudly), then Laser Quest for a round of tag.  Audrey graciously stayed out of the way during dinner so the boys could enjoy themselves, but managed to tag along for a round at Laser Quest. Violet was out of the house as she tagged along with the Wiens family for dinner and a show (Charlotte's spring ballet performance was that evening).  And Isaiah ate burgers and fries with a gusto, like the rest of the boys, but then went home with me for bath and bedtime when Randy took the boys over to Laser Quest.  After LQ, they came back home for some Wii play, board games, more food, orange soda, and lots of loud noises!!  They played and talked and yelled and ate LATE into the night.  I think it was 1:30 in the morning before they finally fell asleep.  They were up at the crack of dawn but played well together and ate a ton of waffles!  Who wouldn't with fresh strawberries and whipped cream?!  It was a fun party!

I think Daniel won the creativity award for his mini-waffle masterpieces!

Isaac and Mason...two cool goofballs!

Who wears clothes to bed?  Not these "big boys"!

Isaac's birthday dinner...spaghetti and meatballs with Orange Crush!

Sunday was Isaac's actual birth date but he was gracious to share it with me and Grandma Arlene.  Our little family ate dinner together for a birthday celebration (and some Mother's Day presents too)! We are so thankful for the energy and excitement Isaac brings to our home!  God knew just what He was doing when He gave us Isaac, and we continue to learn about life, each other, and what little boys need to feel loved and grow smarter and stronger as we parent Isaac!  His love for his little brother is so evident and we are blessed as we watch him learn to share (his parents, his toys, and his room) and guide his little brother every day!  We are so thankful for the 10 years we have shared with Isaac and hope and pray we get to share many more birthday with our oldest son!

Happy Birthday Isaac!  We love you so much!!

Glad it was a fun weekend. Isaac is a great brother as well as a great friend to Luke and Dylan. The boys think he is great!
