11 months old!

Our baby girl turned 11 months yesterday! What a big girl! This past month Violet...

started to do some real crawling, pulled herself up to her knees onto furniture, has gotten two new teeth (now her total is 3 on bottom and 1 on top), learned (and uses) the signs for "more" and "all done" when in her high chair, made the "m" sound in the past week but still doesn't say "mama"...everything is "dada" still, has started eating finger foods (Cheerios two months ago, now peas, corn, cut up bananas, and sweet potatoes), has worked on making her opinion known (usually a loud scream or cry) when brother or sister takes a toy from her or closes a door on her. She is growing up too fast...literally...she's almost 19 pounds and has moved up into a toddler car seat this past week. She is also getting so long that some pants I just bought her a month or two ago for fall are already looking like capri pants!

Well, the last BIG thing that happened to Violet this past month is that she gained a new friend! Our good friends, Aaron and Christa Wiens, gave birth to Charlotte Bryann on September 19th. She and mom are doing great! Thank you to all of you that have prayed for our friends over the past year and a half as they have walked through a difficult valley of life (giving birth to their first son, Caleb, and then saying goodbye to him only 3 days later last March). We thank God for his gift of Charlotte and are enjoying the view from God's mountain of joy. Violet is already looking forward to meeting her new friend at Christmastime! And Jamie is counting the days before she gets to go visit Aaron, Christa, and Charlotte at the end of this month.
