Last camping trip

Hard to believe, but this past weekend was our third and last planned camping trip of the summer. We joined the Schlesselman and Wiens families for a weekend up at Grant's Grove. Due to some campground construction on the Sequoia side of the park, Azalea campground (our fave) was closed to accommodate the reservations from Dorst and Lodgepole. We had never camped in Crystal Springs, but embraced the "adventure" and managed to find adjoining campsites. Our weekend was full with a birthday party for Aaron on Friday night (complete with grilled sausages topped with sautéed peppers and onions, beans, salad, and amazing brownies that Christa made for dessert), games, hikes and a drive into Hume on Saturday for burgers, shakes and a sunset walk around the lake (also joined for the day by the Co family), and also completing the activities for Jr. Ranger badges before heading home on Sunday afternoon. Hopefully we will get up the hill sometime in September to camp again before the nighttime lows drop into the freezing range.
