Soccer season starts & swim season stats

Just wanted to give a sports update on what's going on with our kiddos. Swim season has long been done for Audrey (end of July), but I never posted her stats for the year. She swam everything at least once: 50 free, 50 breast, 50 back, 50 fly, and 4x25 free relay. Her 50 free time improved by 25 seconds (her fastest time just under 1 min 15)! Her breaststroke time improved enough to beat her slowest freestyle time (1 min 35). By the end of the season she could do her 50 back in under 2 minutes (this stroke was HARD for Audrey). And her one time doing 50 fly was 1:37:42. Not bad in my own opinion...I was shocked she could do the stroke, CORRECTLY, the entire 50 yards! We were so proud of her hard work, fantastic attitude and willingness to swim whatever event the coach gave her (Mom had to work on keeping her opinions of what her daughter should be swimming to herself). She had a great season and can't wait 'til next summer. In the meantime, she's got her running shoes back on and is training for cross country, which starts mid-October. Isaac had his first soccer game this Saturday. He actually had 2 (there is an odd number of teams, so every team has one Saturday that they play twice). Isaac did great! He hasn't played the last two years because his last season (4 yrs. old) he thought it was great fun to slide tackle or wrestle other players to the ground for the ball. So we decided to wait until he could focus a little better. He is LOVING soccer! He is so fast! And, thankfully, he is keeping his hands to himself and his feet on the ball! The teams play 4 kids per side, no goalies. He is preferring to play defense so far. I enjoyed watching him play. I also, equally enjoyed hearing my husband's voice from the sidelines, encouraging the players, calling out directions of whose ball, going which way, kicking in which corner, etc. I signed him up to help coaching (I knew as soon as he got out on the field it would "call" to him) but he never got an official call from an organizing coach. Luckily, our coach is on his own (no assistant) and noticed Randy's enthusiasm to help and wrangled him in for future games (there are no refs for 6/7 yr. olds, so coaches do the running on the sidelines and make calls...PERFECT for Randy). Next game we'll bring out the video camera. And can't leave out Vi! She started back at gymnastics two weeks ago, this year joined by her friend Jackson. I'll hopefully get photos of them soon!
