Final week of school!

Whew!  Our last week of school is done!  The kids had a very fun week and we have already done lots of celebrating the past week and a half.  I am ready to relax a bit before VBS starts up next week.  Here are a few pictures of our adventures the last few days.
The weekend before school was out we had such great weather!  Audrey and I went on a bike ride and breakfast!  Randy took Isaac to a movie that afternoon as well.

Tuesday night Isaac's class had a Poetry Café.  He chose two poems to read.  It was a very fun night and he did a great job!  I appreciated how his teacher kept the kids motivated in the final days by giving them this "extra" unit on poetry and ending it with a fun performance!

On Wednesday Violet's class went on a neighborhood walk to some local businesses (pizza parlor, grocery store, library).  They went to Me n' Ed's and got to make their own pizzas and see the kitchen too!  Yum!

The kindergarteners had one final performance as well on the last day of school, a bunch of dancing!  Here is Violet with her friend AnnElyse (right) dancing the makarena!
Audrey and her friend, Janna.  They got to help pass out programs for the 6th grade promotion.

Chillin' at the movies (Madagascar 3) with all our neighborhood walkin' group (Wiens, Bergen, and Mack families).  The two youngest (Gabe and Isaiah) stayed home to nap with Christa while Marcy and I took all the "big" kids.  Here's our line of 8 kids and 2 moms!

And finally, Friday evening, Randy took Isaac on a father-son camping trip.  It was more for Father's Day than anything else.  They had a great time hiking, relaxing, whittling wood (Randy bought him a pocket knife in the general store), eating a BUNCH of junk food!

Thank you to everyone else that helped our kids celebrate this week (Auntie Christa taking them to ice cream, Grandma Arlene taking them out to eat)!  It was a great way to kick-start our summer!
