Audrey's birthday

Audrey's birthday celebration was pretty low-key this year.  Let's be honest, they can't be huge parties every year.  She had a few friends over on Friday night for a sleepover.  She wanted it to be a spa party so she gathered supplies for painting fingers and toes, and Grandma Arlene pitched in some fun supplies as well!

All the girls with their face masks on...the cucumbers were actually part of the snacks and they thought of putting them on their eyes all on their own, for a silly picture!

Audrey wanted a special cake on the night of her actual birthday when we had a family dinner, so we made simple Chocolate Pots de Creme instead, with fresh strawberries!

As excited as I was about this DELICIOUS dessert, the girls were unimpressed.  Comments like, "This  is really rich" or "I'm not sure I like this" to "I taste coffee" made me sad I used a whole bar of good expensive chocolate.  Good thing it was an easy prep, only one girl actually finished her cup.

Once again, our renovated garage was the perfect place for the girls to play games, snack, and giggle late into the night.  And there was plenty of room for them to spread out and sleep in there as well!
When the girls woke up we made waffles topped with fresh strawberries and LOTS of whipped cream before sending them all home!  It was a fun night!

On Sunday night we had a small family dinner.  Grandma Arlene made enchiladas.  I made beans and salad and Audrey's favorite cake, Tres Leches.  We are so very proud of this young lady!  God has truly blessed our family with the gift of Audrey!  We pray we have many more years of celebrating with her.  Thank you to all of you that wished her a happy day!
