Needless to say, our New Years' Eve celebration was much more relaxed this year. Violet almost made it to 10, my mom went to bed at 10:30, Isaac was taken to bed at 11 after almost an hour of non-stop talking that made no sense (he was beyond loopy), and Audrey and I saw 11:25 before getting tired of watching Grandpa Bruce and Daddy playing Wii Resort and nodded off. But who can blame us when this was our day?

Fun on the beach! We spent most of the morning on the sand of Seacliff State Beach. It was a gorgeous day!

Making a sand-octopus with Daddy!

A trip into the outskirting hills of Watsonville after lunch to visit
Gizdich Ranch and pick up some pies for dessert! Then the kids and Dad had some downtime at the house while I drove my parents into downtown Capitola for some sight-seeing.

A sunset stroll along the beach before dinner!

Chinese take-out from Uncle Kwok's for dinner (YUM)! Then it was time to serve the pie...apple or boysenberry were the choices. Afterwards we settled in for some games, Stratego, Checkers, and LOTS of Wii Resort (wakeboarding, archery, ping pong, and frisbee golf)! And then, one by one, we nodded off into the New Year. I hope all of you enjoyed time with your friends and family over the holiday season...Happy New Year!!!

Looks like you had awesome weather at the beach! And frisbee golf, huh? My record is 13-under. Bring it on, Randy! =)
The older I get, the more I see that it is pointless to push myself to stay up late. Even though I once again stayed up till 12 and watched the Times Square ball drop, my body is still catching up from the lack of sleep. My New Year's resolution...go to bed at a regular time on New Year's Eve.
